The Ridings Folk Group
Welcome to The Ridings
We are a group, holding camping weekends within Yorkshire, being part of the Folk Dance & Song Group which is a special interest section of the Camping and Caravanning Club.
As well as enjoying camping and the great outdoors we also share an interest in more traditional ‘Folk Music’ activities. The focus of every camping weekend is our Saturday Evening Ceilidh where we regularly have an open invite to play in the ‘scratch’ band, talented individuals provide entertainment spots and everyone can join in the ceilidh dancing with ‘callers’ providing the dance instructions. Newcomers might come along to watch and are soon tempted to ‘have a go’ at the dancing!
Whilst we locate our weekends in different areas of Yorkshire we always welcome campers from neighboring areas, being attracted by our friendly Yorkshire welcome and by what is on offer.

Our meets are open to all members of the Camping and Caravanning Club, there is no requirement to be a member of the Folk Dance & Song Group to join us for a weekend.

Join The Camping and Caravanning Club today to benefit from over 100 years of expertise as well as specially selected discounts tailored to our members. As soon as you are a member you will be assigned to a District Association (DA). This will be the closest DA to where you live and shown on your membership card. You are then free to go camping with any of the 93 DA's over 13 Regions in the UK.
